How to install a metallic epoxy floor

A base coat, then a metallic mid coat where mica powders are dispersed into epoxy and manipulated for a marbled, pearlescent look, sealed with polyaspartic.

  1. 01
    Prep the slabGrind or etch, fill cracks with PE-85, vacuum dust.
  2. 02
    Mix & roll the baseMix the epoxy (add pigment for a colored base) and roll an even coat.
  3. 03
    Mix the metallic coatDisperse 1–4 mica colors into a fresh epoxy batch.
  4. 04
    Pour & manipulatePour, spread, and work with a roller/torch for the marbled effect.
  5. 05
    CureLet the metallic coat cure fully before topcoating.
  6. 06
    Top coatSeal with clear polyaspartic for gloss and UV protection.
